In this 2015 romantic drama, Salman Khan takes up the role of the wealthy but conceited crown prince of Pritampur, Yuvraj Vijay Singh. Engaged to Maithili (played by Sonam Kapoor), a princess from the kingdom of Devgarh, Vijay is unable to get along well with his fiancée and his half-sisters.
He survives an attempted assassination planned by Ajay his vengeful half-brother and Chirag, his manager to take the crown. While in a coma, Vijay is locked away in a secret place and replaced with a hired lookalike stage actor Prem Dilwale, till he recovers.
Prem (also played by Salman Khan), the doppelganger actor manages to play the part but falls in love with Maithili in the process. She reciprocates because of his good nature, which is a sharp contrast to that of the real crown prince. Prem cleans up after the crown prince and reconciles with his half-sisters and inviting them back to the palace to live with him.
When Ajay and Chirag find out about the switch, they kidnap Vijay but Chirag frees him, double-crossing Ajay and stoking the flames conflict. When the crown prince comes returns, the suspense-filled plot takes a dynamic dramatic turn that ends happily.
As of the date of release, this film is the fourth collaboration between Salman Khan and director Sooraj Barjatya.
